Hi guys! I previously posted about the resort (Club Med Kani) that I was lived in when I traveled to the Maldives. If you are planning to take your kids to go with you, don't worry because Club Med Kani has improved their service from a perfect honeymoon place to a family-friendly holiday destination. I also had an interview with Club Med Kani hotel service manager, Chokri Ferchici to get to know more about the resort's service.
With its beautiful sunset, white sandy beaches and pristine water, the Maldives has long topped the list of dream romantic destinations. Most of the resorts on the island country, including Club Med, are pitched specifically at honeymooners and couples looking for a romantic getaway.
However, with the growing trend toward family travel, Club Med — the world leader in premium all-inclusive holiday — has introduced new facilities, services and activities at its resort in Kani, the Maldives, to create the ideal family getaway.
"We introduced a Kid's Club last year. Since then the resort has changed remarkably, from a 'couples only' place to something much more family friendly," Club Med Kani hotel service manager Chokri Ferchichi said during a tour of the resort on Saturday (15/07).
At the newly constructed Happy Children’s Corner, children from 4 to 10 years old can enjoy an array of fun and educational activities such as cooking lessons and arts and crafts classes run by dedicated GOs (Gentil Organisateur, the French term for “Gracious Organizer," coined by Club Med).
"We have seen an increasing number of families traveling with their kids. During school vacations we've had up to 220 kids coming to our resort."
"To make the resort even more family-friendly, we are also planning to build a Mini Club here in Kani," Chokri added.
Mini Club is offered by Club Med to ensure children holidaying with their parents get their own entertainment, ones that suit their personalities.
While the parents relax under the sun or get active with a spot of water sports at Club Med Kani, the kids can join the Mini Club and meet new friends.
The Mini Club caters to three age groups (4-5 years, 6-7 years, 8-10 years) and provide activities organized by the GOs according to a set program with sports, creativity, expression and games as its main themes.
Chokri said everything can be arranged for the children at the Mini Club, including meal times. The kids can take their meals and snacks in the company of their GOs at the children-only Baby Restaurant.
"But nothing is mandatory here. Parents can also take their children to have lunch with them. Our chefs take extra care to develop dishes that people of all ages will enjoy," Chokri said.
The Mini Club does not incur extra charges, the fees are already included in the resort's all-inclusive deal.
